In 2012 we made the decision to open Kelly House as a B&B. Unfortunately due to many years of neglect and underinvestment, a lot of renovation to the house was required before we could welcome our first guests.
Here we present some picture galleries to show the extent to which the rooms were transformed, in some cases being taken back to stonework before boarding, lining and wallpaper were replaced.
The project required the family to re-learn many old techniques from fixing and sizing hessian to lime plaster ceiling work. For a real challenge working out how to put together the ultimate flat pack: a Victorian four poster bed with no instructions and missing bolts!
